I'll have to ask my cousins about that?? Bill was in the 5th armored Div. stationed at Fort Knox in 1941...that's according to the return address on the letter.Welcome to DeluxeVillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11886490746108869132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438691382825393831.post-12687315220923220612010-06-02T11:30:41.216-04:002010-06-02T11:30:41.216-04:00Great pictures! I do have to make one correction though (as a WWII collector) - the lady pictured isn't a WAC but a Cadet Nurse, part of the Public Health Service. Basically it was an educational program for ladies to get accelerated nurse training and then (hopefully) join the Army or Navy Nurse Corps. Also the guy pictured was an officer in some type of Armored Division, but frankly I can't see well enough (or know enough about Armored Divs) to tell which one. Hope this helps!!!Pam Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438691382825393831.post-18063402406408639262010-06-01T05:09:00.044-04:002010-06-01T05:09:00.044-04:00I love that you have so many pictures of your fami...I love that you have so many pictures of your family.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03431751293876429570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438691382825393831.post-23120824530114908022010-06-01T01:03:38.249-04:002010-06-01T01:03:38.249-04:00What amazing family history. That's sad that Bill lived through one war but not the next.Paulettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06181665241824945247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438691382825393831.post-25756314044447910592010-05-31T17:12:31.301-04:002010-05-31T17:12:31.301-04:00Don't they all look so handsome! Grandpa was on Iwo Jima, but he would never want to talk about it. I want to do a post on him and his brothers sometime.Sara In AZhttp://www.nopatternrequired.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438691382825393831.post-85861044440044305182010-05-31T14:15:34.382-04:002010-05-31T14:15:34.382-04:00Thanks for sharing these precious memories with al...Thanks for sharing these precious memories with all of us. Grandma will be 94 this year. As tough as Grandpa is, he does not like to talk about WW II. He would tell a few stories of fighting in Germany to us as kids, but always he would fall quiet and not say anymore. He is still the toughest/strongest man I have ever known.

Touchofevil!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
