The Great Chipmunk Incident of 2010

My cat is a beast. She is the stalker of tiny, innocent creatures in the back garden. She has been known to present me with many dead presents over the years. This time though, she's gone to far and has brought me a real live chipmunk for my very own. The chipmunk, whom I affectionately named "Pepe" from on top of the chair that I was screaming from, (actually, Pepe was screaming too) eloquently fled into the bottom of my kitchen cabinets. Well, actually under the cabinets! Within 15 min the beast had lost all interest in poor little Pepe but I sure haven't because Pepe is still under my dang kitchen cabinets! Me and Pepe might be having a show down sometime soon.

Last Call.......

I have not heard from AnnieB in regards to claiming the lamp she won in the DeluxeVille Lamp giveaway. Hmmm, AnnieB I don't know what happened but since I haven't heard from you and have no way of contacting you, I've decided to have Milo redraw a winner for the lamp. So stay tuned DeluxeVille readers....

The Va-Voom Challenge

I love a challenge. Really, I do! Tell me I can't do something and I'll go out of my way to prove you wrong. So when The Va-Voom Vintage Challenge: Love yourself, Love others, Love vintage, was issued... I thought why not push the envelope a wee bit further....(sorry in advance Mom)

If you are a reader of my blog, you know all about my last 5 year voyage back to loving myself. Where did I go??? I don't know but here I am. One of the things I've learned to do in my 30's was to except myself the way I am. I LOVE being in my 30's!!! Why I couldn't do this in my 20's, I don't know? I was to busy hating myself to actually take the time to discover how to love myself. The things I did to my body both physically and mentally because I couldn't see my own beauty was sad. I can only hope that my body forgives me and believes me when I promise to take better care of it these next 38 years.

Dear Body,

Please don't give up on me now. I promise to make it up to you. You and I still have so many places to go and fun things to do. I also promise to never let anyone come between us ever again. If they don't like us, we don't need them. This time, we're sticking together and I mean it!

Love Always,
MaryDeluxe
who's that girl?

5 Things I LOVE about me:

1. My goofy, silly personality. I like to laugh...I totally crack myself up on a daily basis. It's much fun!

2. The curve from my waist to my hips. I've worked hard for my petite curves and I'm still working!

3. My little tummy....I happen to think tummies are extremely sexy. :)

4. The muscle definition I've been getting in my calves and thighs from my workouts. I love seeing how my body changes with exercise.

5. My tiny feet... which allow me to fit into cute vintage shoes!

5 People who I admire and inspire me.

1. MsBitchCakes.....If you don't read her blog, you should. Her personal self journey is nothing short of amazing.

2. Ms. Desi De Lu Lu...My favorite bus stop goddess.

3. Kitty Von Purr...For her courage and strength as she battles breast cancer. Kick it's ass Kitty!

4. Shrinky Inky....because she turned 50 and still look's fabulous. I also adore her hair color!

5. Cheri Pinktrix from The Vintage Lesbian Project. Watch the video...now this girl knows how to have a good time with her body!!

Blog Warning.....

Tonight, I received this email in my mailbox:

I am a 61 year old bus driver, married, 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren with a third on the way. I have no desire to get romantically involved with any of my passengers, not even the flirtatious ones. Let those gals go find some eligible driver who has no commitments and is as much on the prowl as the gals who chase him. I try to be sensitive towards my passengers although the streets don't always permit me to give a smooth ride even though I try to dodge some potholes, there are too many of them to avoid entirely. The street department tries it's best to keep up with them but there's only so much asphalt to go around.
My biggest problem is not the prowl gals but having too many stops along the route and not enough time to get passengers to the terminal on time for them to make connections. This is a city council problem for not providing enough frequent service so everyone doesn't have to pile on the same bus all the time. It's frustrating to all of us and management knows it. But there isn't anything we can do about it until someone wakes the council up. That may take another 5-6 years. By the time it's straightened out, I'll be retired.
So don't waste your time or mine. I'm glad you are your own woman. Just be careful not to make too many demands as I can't please everyone. That's impossible. Make too many demands and you are bound to make some enemies along the way. You might as well run for public office.

You're in Pennsylvania and I live in Iowa City. Good luck in finding the right driver.

Dear DeluxeVille Readers,

Please be advised that many times along the way in my blog, I will write a bit tongue-and-cheek. This is not always appropriate content for all my readers. Sometimes, in my quest for self happiness, I will write or share information that might offend a few people, many people, or maybe just bus drivers! So, I would just like to take a moment to apologize to ALL the bus drivers, hey-wake dealers, non-materialistic people, non-fur wearers, vintage elitists, non vintage elitists, my Mom, my Dad, various family members, ex-boyfriends (you know who you are), all the little people, and anybody else that might have experienced a "bad feeling" about anything I may have written in this here blog. This is my warning, if I've offended you in the past, I will continue to do my best to offend you in the future! Oh, and please girls, leave the poor bus drivers alone out there in Iowa! Their job sounds hard enough already without having to fight off bus stop goddesses with too many demands!

Thank you for your time!

The owner of this here joint,
Miss MaryDeluxe
