I got really excited when I saw a Lustron House for sale in the area I teach in... Lustron for sale Then, I ran across a Lustron group on Flickr and found these wonderful pictures of a Lustron house taken by Joey Harrison. The story is that Mrs. Nation and her husband were the original owners of this little gem of a Lustron. After Mrs. Nation passed away 2 years ago the house went up for sale. Included in the sale of the house was also ALL the original furniture! How very cool is that! Asking price for the house when it was for sale 2 years ago was $69,900. Lustron houses came with all the built ins that you see in the pictures below.

ReplyDeleteThere is one of these in the scariest part of town. It's green I think. I wonder what it looks like on inside.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. I grew up in Iowa next door to a Lustron house exactly like this one. The interior is exactly the same. Even the furniture placement. The only difference is the house in my hometown, exterior is yellow.

I was wondering if you remember where this Lustron is located as I am researching and trying to find as many of these special homes as possible?? any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Nathan
ReplyDeleteThis is very cool. I recently learned that 2 of these are for sale in an area not terribly far from where I live, but neither are as original as this one is. They've had heating modifications and/or renovations to the kitchen & bath.
