I finally finished my metal lawn chairs project (go here to see the ugly before pictures), that I started last summer, this weekend! Yay! Nothing like having a very unusual 70 degree Spring weekend to get me motivated again. I finally got that rocking chair painted and put back together...I then removed my hey-wake set off the front porch and put these on it. Yup, I've had hey-wake on my front porch for years and nobody ever wanted to steal it? I am now on the lookout for a metal glider to match my chairs. They pop up every now and again...I found one at an action last fall but couldn't make it there because I was working. I am patient and I know eventually, I'll run across a matching glider.
Sooo Springlike! Can't wait to get started on my Spring plans. Looks really cute!
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely! I really like the green! Did you have to sand them to get rid of the rust? How did you get the white squares so perfect? Stencil? Sorry for asking a lot of questions, but I'm going to be furnishing an apartment soon and will most likely be thrifting everything that goes in it!
ReplyDeleteNOW your Speaking my Language! I get thoes Metal "basket" stamped becnhes all the time, Seriously I am the KING of Lawn Chairs haha. My very first glider I hauled all the way from Kansas after buying it for $30, my next one I bought for my Parents 27th wedding aniversary gift for $25, the next one was FREE and I have since bought 2 more and given them as gifts for $12 and $20. :) I'll keep an Eye out for you!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous! And think of the cool cross-hatching you'll get on your legs when you sit on them in shorts, ha ha. My in-laws have a glider that I've been coveting for years but they refuse to part with it, grrrr. I also have a metal chair that desperately needs to be cleaned and painted so I'm heartened by seeing how long it took you--maybe I'll actually get it done this Spring!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I cant wait to start investing in vintage furniture.
ReplyDeleteThose are too cool! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteI was doing the same thing this weekend,'cept I'm working on a glider chair (pix will be on my blog soon). I'm with you trying to find a glider bench- someday our ship will come in!
