Elvis Lives Here Now

What happens when the Sgt rolls home with a 3 foot high velvet Elvis he found along the side of the road.....well, it makes MaryDeluxe realize she married the right man!

What happens when Sgt stops at obscure middle of nowhere yard sales so MaryDeluxe can take a peak?  $5 vintage leopard coats happen!

Nothing's better than a 1970's velvet Elvis in the original frame and cheap vintage leopard coats!  I've never seen Elvis with such a nice tan before! :) I'm so glad it's young Elvis and not old fat Elvis in a sparkle jump suit.  Just sayin'.

Keepin' the kitsch alive here people!

  4. Love that Elvis. I collect them and even though I have gotten most of mine for under $5 free is always better!

  5. I love it! Been lurking but haven't commented in a while. Love reading and seeing pics of your home remodeling and gardening. :) My landlord's father was moved out to one of his children's homes (he was 87) a few months after I moved into my apartment above him. They threw out a lot of great stuff that I saved from the trash. One was a velvet Matador/Bullfighting painting. While it's not totally my style, it's really cool and hangs in my living room currently. There's something to be said about white trashy kitsch. :)

  7. That is a killer painting! That would be hard to pass up. :D

I am going to have to go through my photos and see if I have one of my friend's huge velvet young Dolly Parton that she thrifted! She loves it so much that it's one of the few things she's taking with her as she moves across the pond. lol

  8. Man, those are awesome! You are really lucky Sgt picked that one up- Jay usually just rolls his eyes at my trash picked finds, let alone grabbing something himself LOL.

  12. Those are some fantastic finds--you lucked out! I actually love the way Elvis and the coat look together. Too bad you can't leave the coat on display next to him all the time!
