The Scene at Sine's
I went off to Quakertown, PA on Friday to visit my gal pal SusieQT from Practice in Time blog. This is the first time I've been to visit her really awesome little vintage house and met her cute little energized kids! After being given the drool worthy grand tour, dancing to records in the old jukebox, and planting a few pond plants in the new pond, we all loaded into the car and went off on an adventure to town. We visited a few antique shops, did a bit of research, and then somebody requested a cheese dog and so we made our way over to Sine's 5 and 10 cent store for a bite to eat!
Sounds like fun! I'm glad someone got hungry and wanted a cheese dog for lunch yesterday because I was given the opportunity to take a nostalgic trip! Nothing is better than sitting at an old soda fountain, in an old 5 & 10, enjoying a little tuna mac for lunch!

In case you haven't figured it out yet, Sine's is having their big 100 anniversary in 35 days!!! Here's how Sine's will be celebrating.......
"We
are having a two day celebration on Aug. 10th & 11th to commemorate
100 years in business. The Leisure Time 4, a barbershop quartet, will
be performing on Friday, the 10th, from 12 noon to 2:00 PM. Dale Sine,
formerly of the Mel-O-Dee Aces, will be here on Saturday, the
11th, also between noon and 2:00. We will have $1.00 specials
throughout the store, including lunch specials at the soda fountain.
Commemorative mugs and t-shirts will be available. Free cotton candy,
pencils, magnets and pinwheels will be given out while supplies last.
And of course, we will have cake!"

4th Fun
Like many other areas of the US, we've been in the mists of a heat wave. It's hot, hot, hot and since Sgt and I don't have a pool of our own (and the neighbor was home) we headed off to the creek for a refreshing dip! Here are a few Instagrams from our creek time on the 4th!
Sgt even had me make a video about Summer and the river.....notice how he left out the most important thing to have at the river till the very end of the video....um hello, hello over here Sgt...don't forget to bring your wife! He's lucky I'm such a sucker for that smile of his!
Happy 4th!
