As you all know, I have my own little pond ecosystem going on in my back garden and a few years ago, because I love frogs, I decided to get three tadpoles, which then of course turned into three little frogs. Unfortunately, only one little frog has survived over the winters. This one little frog has now turned into a really big bull frog that is so loud my neighbors can hear him down the street! My big frog Romeo has been calling for a girlfriend all summer and I've felt kinda bad because there's no water source nearby that might have a potential mate for him to attract. Well, that's what I use to think anyway and then she showed up! Where she came from and how she got here, I don't know?? But I saw her little petite self sitting on a rock this morning. Oh poor little Juliet, such a sucker for the call of her Romeo.
Romeo
Let's hear it for "froggy love". :o)
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteA heads up about dogs and frogs, in case ya didn't know (and if you did, I'll shut up ;)
I use to be a Veternarian's Asst.-frogs are poisonous to dogs! They will foam at the mouth even after they toss it up (frog skin has a coating on which is suppose to keep them from getting munched on, but, seriously, when was the last time you saw a dog 'taste' anything??) and then the dog will feel like crap for days, which means they get dehydrated and things can go bad.
Glad ya'll got to spend some quality time together :)
Aw sweet.
ReplyDeleteSoon you may have more little froggies than you know what to do with!
Very cute! Both the frogs and the dog!
ReplyDeleteRomeo is cute, I would give him a kiss...
ReplyDeleteaw that is so cute, love conquers all eh? I love how the Sgts dog looks at him so adoringly!
ReplyDeleteLove the frogs! That's so cute how one just showed up like it was meant to be
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story. I love frogs and toads. Whenever I encounter one, I just have to take a picture. You live so well. It's the little things, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteErin
Just as long as Juliet isn't actually Julio you'll definitely have scads of tads soon.
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest thing I've heard all week!
ReplyDeleteI am actually quite scared of frogs and toads, eugh! But I have to admit that they are pretty cute to look at! And Raven is such a gorgeous doggie!
ReplyDeleteI have two silver dollar-sized frogs inhabiting a pond in my backyard. They have had some sort of croaking contest every single night, non-stop all night long for the past few years. My neighbors across the street as well as to the left and right are at times able to hear their incessant croakings despite their diminutive size!
ReplyDeleteTouchofevil!
