Yard Sale Score

It's yard sale time favorite time of year! On my way home from work today, I stopped off at a yard sale. This certain family goes to auctions and every year they host a "barn sale" where they sale off things they've acquired over the year that they don't want. They always have neat stuff for sale and at crazy yard sale prices. I usually don't venture over that way, as it's not my normal drive home, but today I had an errand to run and had the luck of driving past! I only had a couple of bucks on me, but thought what the heck, I'll stop and have a look! I'm so glad I did because they had a really cute Hey-wake Sculptura vanity stool there for $6.50. No vanity with it, but you know me, I buy one Hey-wake piece at a time and work my way slowly up to a complete set! :-)

I think it'll look great with my Hey-wake pull up chair even though it's not meant to actually go with it! I would actually put the stool next to the chair to take a picture, but the chair is packed away in the garage ready for my move this weekend! DeluxeVille is a barren wasteland! Can you believe I'm still buying furniture even though I have to move this weekend....hahahaha...oh well, one more thing to shove onto the moving truck!

My new heywake chair!

  1. What an amazing find. Isn't funny how we just cannot turn off that bargain switch even when we're moving? I looked up Hey-wake and I'm so impressed with the elegant lines and sturdy, textured fabrics. Beautiful vanity stool:)

  2. Congratulations...I'm so jealous! The Sculptura vanity is my most-wanted Heywood-Wakefield piece, and the stool is the best part!

  3. So stinking cute! Definitely worth the extra packing this weekend!

  4. Wow that is not only beautiful but a bargain! You were meant to drive that way today. Good luck with the move this weekend

  5. I have that stool in pink ! Came with my vanity. I love it. Good luck with your move this weekend. When is the wedding ?

  6. I love Spring & Summer because for me, they mean it's Yard Sale Time. It never ceases to amaze me how one person's "trash" is my treasure. Sometimes I wonder if I have on some secret rhinestone studded cat glasses that enable only me to see how their stuff is really cool and useful, when they can only see fit to get rid of it. Oh, well, their loss is our gain, right?!

And just a question: I tried looking at some of your photos on the right-hand side of the blog, but your flickr photos are private.... Is there a way to be able to see them all, or do you keep it private for everyone? (totally understand if you do.)
