There's a big auction on Sunday that will be having 17 pieces of Heywood Wakefield furniture in it! There is absolutely no doubt that this is an auction that I will have to go check out! I am totally drooling over this little piece.......
M395 Record Cabinet
See more pictures here!
My only fear is the evil Heywood Wakefield dealer.... Ohhhh you all know how I loath him. Of course I'm sure he will be there but the good thing is they will be selling the pieces one at a time...which means I have a better chance at actually buying something.
I've been after that record cabinet for years.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling I'll never get my hands on one.
I'm content on having spent $70 on a dining table and chairs, and prefer to purchase my HeyWake in that manner.
Oh so cool! I hope you get the record cabinet! the other pieces are nice too! I checked out the auction photos, I have the 5 drawer dresser pictured, I love that the drawers are deep enough for lots of stuff stacked in there. Mine's not in perfect condition but was given to me to start my adult life with, by my favorite uncle so twice as special. I also have a vanity with stool but I lament the fact that I sold the matching bed frame years ago, at least the gal that bought it was so happy she practically cried, so I know it went to a good home.
ReplyDeleteoops meant to say mine is a 4 drawer like the 5 drawer pictured.
ReplyDeleteDown with the Evil Dealer! You *deserve* that cabinet, and we'll all be rooting for you!
ReplyDeleteMiss Tayva...70 bucks!! lucky girl!! I love when you can find deals like that! I doubt anything will go that cheap at this auction.
ReplyDeleteBettyBoogie... That is really nice of your uncle to give you such awesome furniture to start ya off on the right foot, the man obviously has good taste! * I cry over heywake furniture too but it's usually becuase I can't afford it! hahaha
Tikimama...perhaps some ill fate will befall the mean heywake dealer...like me tripping him as he walks past me! *giggles* Okay that's mean I could never...or maybe I could! :)
ooo my heart rate actually sped up looking at that stuff!
ReplyDelete(i think i have a furniture-love problem..haha)
*dies* eeeeik! I will keep my fingers crossed you can snatch up all that stuff at a good deal.
ReplyDeleteI am so loving this post! I would *heart* it so much if you shared other auctions you go to or have been to. For me living here in Melbourne, Australia we just dont see anything anywhere near that exciting. I was getting a bit excited over the jewelry as well. I am also happy to shop vicariously so would be very happy to share in your auctioning adventures. The nearest thing we have here is furniture that was custom made for the local jewish community by 2 brothers who came out from europe post WW2. It is blonde wood and has all the right lines- I am fortunate to have an awesome bed made by them that has a bedhead shaped like a coat hanger frame with a series of vertical wooden wishbones within the frame (sorry bad explanation!). Anyways thanks for sharing I was intrigued, and good luck on the bidding!
ReplyDeleteOh I have been looking for that record cabinet !!! Good luck and I hope you get everything you want and I will quietly turn pea green with envy xxx
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the auction!! I passed up a HeyWake chair last weekend, $70 on sale... but I may have to go back for it. I've seen a few other pieces at estate sales, but it actually doesn't come up terribly often here (Brandt "Ranch Oak" was more popular here). Too bad you don't live in Texas because I have a feeling we would have a great time at estate sales and flea markets!
ReplyDeletePhenolicfanatic...well aren't you lucky...summer is coming and I will definitely being attending the auctions! You can live vicariously through me, I won't mind! :)
ReplyDeletePam B....if I lived in your town the chair would be gone! lol I could just see us at auction now bidding against each other! hahaha We'd have to work out some kind of system!!!
All I want is that record cabinet!
What a beautiful piece. I would love to have that in my place.
